Yandex.Games Jam Results

The Defold Foundation and Yandex.Games game jam was a month long jam running all through November of last year. Developers were challenged to create a themed web game showing their creative and developer skills as well as a good integration with the Yandex.Games SDK. After some delays during the post-jam period we finally have the results!

People’s Choice

The games were ranked based on the average star rating given by the players

Yandex’ Choice

The team at Yandex ranked the games based on how well the games perform on the Yandex platform.

Defold’s Choice

The Defold Foundation ranked the games based on technical excellence and theme usage.

• 3rd place - Game console, Assortment of game keys, 2 hours of one-on-one Defold support
• 4th-10th place - Assortment of game keys, 1 hour of one-on-one Defold support

One-on-one Defold support - Dedicated time from the Defold team to use for anything related to Defold development.

Examples: Code review of your game. Advice and guidance on how to use Defold. Advice and guidance on how to implement a certain feature in your game.

Disclaimer: The choice of consoles is depending on availability in the location of the winner and at the discretion of the Defold Foundation.

Some notes on the categories

In both People’s Choice and Yandex’ Choice the rankings are based purely on analytics data gathered during the period after the jam:

• In People’s Choice the ranking is based on user rating in a five star system. The top 10 games all scored high and it was very close between several of the games.
• In the Yandex’ Choice category the rankings are based on analytics data such as retention, average time in game, total time and several other factors.

In the Defold’s Choice category we’ve given the games an unbiased rating based on theme, technical excellence and fun.
